Countries attracting the most foreign direct investment is a live ranking of the top 50 entries in finance and crypto by FDI net inflows, built from public data published by World Bank Open Data. It was last refreshed on 2026-10-29. This is the first published snapshot; from the next refresh onwards the page will also show movers, new entries and a rank history chart.

United States currently holds #1 with 307.0k BoP, current US$ million. Singapore is second with 159.1k BoP, current US$ million, which puts the leader 93% ahead. Hong Kong SAR, China completes the top three with 121.0k BoP, current US$ million. Together the top three account for about 54% of the combined top-10 total, which gives a quick sense of how concentrated this ranking is.

How it is measured: Foreign direct investment refers to direct investment equity flows in the reporting economy. It is the sum of equity capital, reinvestment of earnings, and other capital. Direct investment is a category of cross-border investment associated with a resident in one economy having control or a significant degree of influence on the management of an enterprise that is resident in another economy. Ownership of 10 percent or more of the ordinary shares of voting stock is the criterion for determining the existence of a direct investment relationship. Data are in current U.S. dollars.
